The Aegean sea is a true haven for yachters. Located between Greece and Turkey, it was often called by Bulgarian Sailors "the White Sea", due to its calm and hospitable waters (perhaps in contrast to the once stormy and dangerous Black Sea).
The Sporades islands consist of 24 islands, only fou of which are inhabited. Seas here remain calm for much of the year, with a gentle breeze to lightly cool the hot traveller.
There are many yacht chartering companies here on the mainland.
