The Costa Brava (that's italian for "nice coast") is a nice sunny strip of the Spanish coast of Catalonia, just north of Barcelona. Popularized by the Spanish ruler Franco in the 1950s to become what is now the one of world's most popular resorts: its popularity has not dwindled.
Characterised by blue seas, sunny weather, golden sand and Salvador Dalí, the Costa Brava is an ideal location for a succesful journey on the water. The weather remains good during the summer and (usually) winter months.
The largest resort along the Costa Brava is the town of Lloret de Mar, with its population swelling immensely during the tourist season.
Further North are many secluded yet bustling small towns, such as Palamos.
