The Costa Blanca (that's spanish for "white coast") is a coastal area of eastern Spain, usually defined by Dénia as it's most northern point, and San Pedro del Pinatar as the most southern. It enjoys an extremely sunny and hot climate, especially during the summer months, and is one of the world's top tourist destinations.
It's main attractions of renown are beautiful sandy bays and beaches, and calm, crystal blue seas. Good news for you yachters too - it's one of the most popular yachting destinations too!
The most important town along the Costa Blanca is Alicante, which is (naturally) the largest and most important metropolitan area in the province if Alicante.With it's beautiful beach, magnificent hotels and calm waters it is an ideal detination for yachters and holidaymakers alike. A bus service runs from the airport to the center of the town, where you can change and connect to other services.
Another must-see destination is Calpe, a town just north of Alicante. It's large rock, called Penan de Ifac, just out into the sea spectacularly, and the easy walk up to it's summit rewards the climber with a spectacular view.
As for yachting, if it's calm blue seas, golden sun, and fine sand that you are after, the Costa Blanca is for you.
